Driving Licence Required To Hire A Car In Tenerife?

I have read that a Green UK licence must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit.
Is this true? and if so where do i get one?

just the normal photocard and paper counter part is required a international driving permit is not required

Yes , all UK photo driving licences come in two
parts – the Paper (Green) part and the photo card.
To rent a car in most countries you need to produce
both parts of the documentation.
